River Writers supports the act of writing and the pursuit of being published.
If you have written, or are thinking about writing, we invite you to become
a part of this group
of creative individuals for fun, fellowship, and programs of interest
to writers of all skill levels.
Meetings are held
the third Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. at the Shelby County Instructional
Services Center in Alabaster.
Meetings
have been indefinitely suspended
.
About us:
Cahaba River Writers
has been organized to educate and inform the beginning, intermediate,
and published writer.
Attendees will gain information and skills to lift their personal writing
to a higher level.
Our goal is to assist writers in reaching publishable skills through informative
discussions,
in-house workshops, guest speakers, and manuscript critiques.
Each meeting consists
of one discussion topic and one manuscript critique.
Eligible manuscripts must be properly formatted in 12 pt courier or new
courier, double spaced,
and are limited to the first five pages.
The manuscript chosen for critique will be selected at random at the beginning
of each meeting.
